Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gilian Huijbrechts started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, KAA Latem's Gilian Huijbrechts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacky Massenhove narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgard Westelinx during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, AFC De Haan's Edgard Westelinx got a free kick in the 5th minute. Jacky Massenhove took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilian Huijbrechts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diedrik De Haes scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacky Massenhove, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to KAA Latem getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Kent Standaerts hit a great ball. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind AFC De Haan's goalkeeper Jacky Massenhove, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Constant Stessel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 25 minutes into the game, Bobby Wijngaerts was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KAA Latem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC De Haan the free kick. 24 minutes into the game, one of KAA Latem:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The supporters of AFC De Haan booed when KAA Latem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefaan Abeloos didn't get a good kick on the ball. AFC De Haan's Jacky Massenhove played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diedrik De Haes in the 33rd minute of play. Constant Stessel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jasper Sutens having to interfere. In the 38th minute of the match, Marco Vereect tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jasper Sutens saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Constant Stessel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Diedrik De Haes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marco Vereect stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gilian Huijbrechts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacky Massenhove having to interfere. Constant Stessel struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Jasper Sutens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC De Haan. Constant Stessel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Jasper Sutens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Gilian Huijbrechts left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KAA Latem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After having played for 86 minutes, Gilian Huijbrechts managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KAA Latem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilian Huijbrechts was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jacky Massenhove made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diedrik De Haes in the 88th minute. Jasper Sutens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Vereect, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diedrik De Haes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Diedrik De Haes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. KAA Latem's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
