The goal made the score 1-0. The supporters of KFC Ruddervoorde booed when FC Bruges was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boudewijn Boemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olliver Huijbreghts succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 10th playminute. FC Bruges's Sem Goovaerts shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 16th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Georges Wautiers but with some difficulty. In the 32nd minute Ief Abeloos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georges Wautiers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Harold Koninkx charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 67th match minute, FC Bruges was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrik De Winter to maneuver through the defense. Mattijs Meersmans didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chris-George Pardons went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. After 74 minutes of play, FC Bruges's Boudewijn Boemans made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Georges Wautiers was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chris-George Pardons who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Mattijs Meersmans when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Wouter De Schepper hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Olliver Huijbreghts scored 5-2 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Georges Wautiers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Chris-George Pardons came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the KFC Ruddervoorde fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris-George Pardons couldn't finish the play. Sylven Van Buyten thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Georges Wautiers, a very annoying self made goal in the 96th minute which led to 6-2. The FC Bruges support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
