The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Tomm Van der Loock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven Van Beringhen scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dimitry Huybrechts, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 12th match minute, Assent was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jules Boemans to maneuver through the defense. Kieth De Leger made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Tomm Van der Loock sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Assent booed when SK Marbais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frits Decaluwe didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Sven Van Beringhen made a precise shot to the right of Dimitry Huybrechts. SK Marbais's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. A collision led to Assent getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Dries De Cock hit a great ball. Kieth De Leger made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Tomm Van der Loock sent off a good shot on target. Guy Van Hove received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Dimitry Huybrechts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Sven Van Beringhen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Assent 's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven Van Beringhen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dimitry Huybrechts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 38 minutes, Sven Van Beringhen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Assent 's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven Van Beringhen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Cesar Cuejvers fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Marbais's protests and gave Cesar Cuejvers a yellow card for diving instead. Cesar Cuejvers hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Kenney De Wever kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ben Van Boxstael stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ben Van Boxstael sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the match, SK Marbais's goalkeeper Dimitry Huybrechts had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guy Van Hove. In the 66th match minute, Assent was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bill Van Dessel to maneuver through the defense. When Guy Van Hove came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Assent fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guy Van Hove couldn't finish the play. Guy Van Hove fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dimitry Huybrechts having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, SK Marbais's goal looked a bit too open when Sven Van Beringhen came free, but Dimitry Huybrechts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute, Assent 's Sven Van Beringhen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. When the final whistle sounded Assent left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SK Marbais.
