Kenny Wigers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sylven Olemans, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Guy Van den Haute in the 11thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lucas Van Deijck, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 12 played minutes KSV Vliermaal got a freekick which was hit by Diego Smidts. A hard shot 13 in the game by Guy Van den Haute from a close distance when the talented Lucas Van Deijck managed to make a qualified save. KSV Vliermaal's players were relieved. Kenny Wigers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robbin Van den Brul in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute Sylven Olemans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenny Wigers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anthony Gobelijns charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anthony Gobelijns the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of KSV Vliermaal booed when Laarne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthony Gobelijns didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rene Vanooteghem in the 23rd minute of play forced Laarne's goalkeeper Kenny Wigers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Thommy Debecker left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Laarne fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Rene Vanooteghem received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Kenny Wigers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of Laarne:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of KSV Vliermaal:s goal. The referee gave KSV Vliermaal a penalty, 37 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ernest Van Kamp, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Laarne's Kenny Wigers. 1-1. Laarne's Kenny Wigers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rene Vanooteghem in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Rolf Saelens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute, Thommy Debecker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thommy Debecker made a kick off. When Thommy Debecker came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Laarne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thommy Debecker couldn't finish the play. In the 54th minute, Gregorie Owerckx ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lucas Van Deijck was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 57th match minute, KSV Vliermaal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norbert Stuyck to maneuver through the defense. After 61 minutes, William Frans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KSV Vliermaal and the Laarne players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, KSV Vliermaal's William Frans got a free kick in the 61st minute. If Thommy Debecker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Harold Reijnders's late challenge caught a KSV Vliermaal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Harold Reijnders helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Laarne's Harold Reijnders got a free kick in the 69th minute. Gregorie Owerckx recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gregorie Owerckx struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Lucas Van Deijck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laarne. Ernest Van Kamp's shot from long distance in the 85th minute was not bad at all, but Laarne's Kenny Wigers knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. In the 88th minute Guy Van den Haute shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Van Deijck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thommy Debecker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the KSV Vliermaal players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Laarne.
