Yelle Gramet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Staf Van der Veeken's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute Staf Van der Veeken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yelle Gramet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th minute, VC Meuleneinde's Rik Adriaens ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Anton Laeremans. Anton Laeremans yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Peter Neirynck in the 13thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Anton Laeremans, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peter Neirynck got free with Anton Laeremans in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, VC Meuleneinde's Frans Verlinden got a free kick in the 29th minute. Caput Bovis's Anton Laeremans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Neirynck in the 36th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Peter Neirynck in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anton Laeremans prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Staf Van der Veeken to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, VC Meuleneinde's Peter Neirynck nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anton Laeremans made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 56 minutes of play, Caput Bovis's Roger Geijselinckx made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yelle Gramet was left in no man's land by his defense there! Yelle Gramet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Staf Van der Veeken, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. When Steffen Coryn fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VC Meuleneinde's protests and gave Steffen Coryn a yellow card for diving instead. If Staf Van der Veeken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steffen Coryn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Anton Laeremans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Staf Van der Veeken blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yelle Gramet having to make a save. In the 79th minute Staf Van der Veeken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yelle Gramet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute of the match Frans Verlinden shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anton Laeremans showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 95th minute, Olivier Maerschalckx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
