The audience was convinced that Kristiaan Vounckx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mike Panhuyse was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. After having played for 21 minutes, Johannes Lindgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RSC Malegem's Michiel Vercouteren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evert Ruelens in the 31st minute of play. Michiel Vercouteren came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by AC MILAN's Ludomil Grocholski. But to his dismay, Ludomil Grocholski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. AC MILAN's Mike Panhuyse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristiaan Vounckx in the 40th minute of play. Ludomil Grocholski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Michiel Vercouteren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Michiel Vercouteren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ludomil Grocholski's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. In the 45th minute of the match Joseph Bekaert shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mike Panhuyse showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 47 played minutes RSC Malegem got a freekick which was hit by Kristiaan Vounckx. After the first half AC MILAN were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ludomil Grocholski made a kick off. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 52nd minute, but Michiel Vercouteren got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving RSC Malegem hanging dry this time. Ludomil Grocholski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michiel Vercouteren having to interfere. Ludomil Grocholskis short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Michiel Vercouteren to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 63 minutes into the match, RSC Malegem's goalkeeper Michiel Vercouteren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ludomil Grocholski. Johannes Lindgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Michiel Vercouteren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, RSC Malegem's Michiel Vercouteren got control of the ball when Ludomil Grocholski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kristiaan Vounckx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Mike Panhuyse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Jacobus Tijs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
