Tony Van Boekost tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Georges Demarrez notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of AFC Tongerlo's Tony Van Boekost. Tony Van Boekost was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nicky Van Acker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kenny Vergau in the 13th minute of the match. If Gerrit Aelgoet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ief Meys charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ief Meys the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Bomal-Sur-Ourthe booed when AFC Tongerlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ief Meys didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gerrit Aelgoet in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tony Van Boekost prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Georges Demarrez struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Tony Van Boekost didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bomal-Sur-Ourthe. Georges Demarrez who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Tony Van Boekost when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 23rd minute, Ief Meys hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Georges Demarrez took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tony Van Boekost. Tony Van Boekost dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Gerrit Aelgoet received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tony Van Boekost came out and tried to block the shot, but Gerrit Aelgoet slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 34th minute. Gerrit Aelgoet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stijn Verhengen hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Nicky Van Acker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kenny Vergau in the 46th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kenny Vergau to make the kick off. Tony Van Boekost stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Georges Demarrez's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in AFC Tongerlo's zone, Gerrit Aelgoet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tony Van Boekost came out of the goal and Gerrit Aelgoet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Georges Demarrez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerrit Aelgoet in the 58th minute of play forced AFC Tongerlo's goalkeeper Tony Van Boekost to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicky Van Acker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kenny Vergau in the 65th minute of the match. In the 67th minute Georges Demarrez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Van Boekost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, AFC Tongerlo's Nicky Van Acker threw himself towards the right post 70 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kenny Vergau, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 72 minutes into the game, Pino Coekx was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bomal-Sur-Ourthe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC Tongerlo the free kick. Kenny Vergau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicky Van Acker having to interfere. The supporters of Bomal-Sur-Ourthe booed when AFC Tongerlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dirk Winnepenninck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bomal-Sur-Ourthe's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
