The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Woumen's goal looked a bit too open when Bertrand Degryse came free, but Patrik Van Bever reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lenny Coenen shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Woumen's Patrik Van Bever played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bertrand Degryse in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Woumen's Gillis Van de Goor got a free kick in the 19th minute. Patrik Van Bever didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bertrand Degryse went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Stein Van Beetz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorne Vranx having to interfere. When FC Verbroedering Hofstade's Bertrand Degryse in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Woumen's goalie prevented a goal. Bertrand Degryse took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Patrik Van Bever. Patrik Van Bever dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 36th match minute, FC Verbroedering Hofstade was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacques Humblets to maneuver through the defense. Stein Van Beetz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorne Vranx having to interfere. 38 minutes into the game, one of FC Verbroedering Hofstade:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 41 minutes, Woumen's Lenny Coenen got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jorne Vranx. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Woumen's goalkeeper Patrik Van Bever, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jacques Humblets received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Patrik Van Bever tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ron Armentier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half FC Verbroedering Hofstade were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Patrik Van Bever was a little too slow when Georges Van Riel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 1-3. Alphonse Walters hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute, Georges Van Riel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jorne Vranx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stein Van Beetz in the 61st minute of the match. After 63 played minutes FC Verbroedering Hofstade got a freekick which was hit by Maurus Van Hespe. Patrik Van Bever didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Georges Van Riel went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Maarten Roockeloos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 73 minutes, Ron Armentier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Verbroedering Hofstade's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ron Armentier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of FC Verbroedering Hofstade booed when Woumen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abraham Van Haeght didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Maurus Van Hespe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Georges Van Riel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Patrik Van Bever tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Ron Armentier managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Verbroedering Hofstade's supporters rose to their feet, but Ron Armentier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patrik Van Bever breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Georges Van Riel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Patrik Van Bever tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Verbroedering Hofstade's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
