Frederic De Meur blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Giovanny Everts having to make a save. club brugge's Frederic De Meur got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 9 minutes into the match, Frederic De Meur had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Giovanny Everts. FC Wancennes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frederic De Meur was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, club brugge's goal looked a bit too open when Willy De Roover came free, but Arnold Bollaert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roderik Reynders came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Arnold Bollaert could save by the left post. club brugge's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Senne Gijselinckx scored to the left of an out of position Arnold Bollaert, making the score, 1-1. In the 28th minute, Benoit Eijkens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to club brugge getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Michiel Uytterhoeven hit a great ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 34 minutes into the game, when Stef Laeremans put in a rough tackle. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Wancennes's Willy De Roover slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arnold Bollaert. That made the score 3-1 after 40 minutes of play. In the 46th minute, Benoit Eijkens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Willy De Roover to make the kick off. A collision led to FC Wancennes getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Roderik Reynders hit a great ball. Alex Bastiaens charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alex Bastiaens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 51st match minute, club brugge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Bastiaens to maneuver through the defense. club brugge's Arnold Bollaert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roderik Reynders in the 53rd minute of play. Alex Bastiaens received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Giovanny Everts came out and tried to block the shot, but Alex Bastiaens slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 54th minute. Arnold Bollaert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thys Debock in the 60th minute of play. After 61 played minutes club brugge got a freekick which was hit by Cornelis Kesters. An unexpectedly hard shot by Senne Gijselinckx in the 68th minute of play forced club brugge's goalkeeper Arnold Bollaert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the match, club brugge's goal looked a bit too open when Senne Gijselinckx came free, but Arnold Bollaert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ken Schockaert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Benoit Eijkens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute, Willy De Roover had to leave the field with a concussion. 86 minutes into the game, Michiel Uytterhoeven was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. club brugge's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Wancennes the free kick. In the 88th minute there was a penalty for FC Wancennes. Vicente Bekaert stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Arnold Bollaert. 5-2. Cornelis Kesters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Giovanny Everts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cornelis Kesters struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Giovanny Everts didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for club brugge. club brugge's Yelle Algoedt got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Many of club brugge's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. club brugge may have spent more time on the ball, but FC Wancennes were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
