The penalty shot was made by Johnny Engelboorgs, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of KVSK Mariakerke's Louis-Philippe Schellekens. 1-1. Mattias Van de Weijer kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Josef Gooris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Georges-Philippe Hosselaer in the 24th minute of the match. The supporters of KVSK Mariakerke booed when Pharmatoppers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johnny Engelboorgs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Philippe-Arnaud Biesen's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 27thth minute, Josef Gooris skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Josef Gooris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Georges-Philippe Hosselaer in the 29th minute of play. KVSK Mariakerke's Louis-Philippe Schellekens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niel Schoenmakers in the 35th minute of play. The Pharmatoppers fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Pharmatoppers's Bernd Huijgens looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lionel Matthieu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 45th minute. KVSK Mariakerke's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lionel Matthieu made a kick off. Anibal Pueblo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Louis-Philippe Schellekens made a huge save. Bernd Huijgens was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 58th minute. Pharmatoppers's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernd Huijgens in the 60th minute of play forced KVSK Mariakerke's goalkeeper Louis-Philippe Schellekens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Josef Gooris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Philippe-Arnaud Biesen in the 68th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, KVSK Mariakerke's Lionel Matthieu got a free kick in the 70th minute. A collision led to Pharmatoppers getting a freekick after 71 minutes play.
