With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maurus Huysmans in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Qwinten De Groot saved Lionel Lions from getting behind. Stan Gilis fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 38th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Ief Sellekaerts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bert Soens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bert Soens's late challenge caught a KSV Loppem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bert Soens helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of KSV Loppem booed when Lionel Lions was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bert Soens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maurus Huysmans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Qwinten De Groot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
