Fernand Steurms fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattijs Swartenbroekx having to interfere. When Fernand Steurms came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the SC Bilzen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernand Steurms couldn't finish the play. Michael Depauw fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattijs Swartenbroekx having to interfere. Mattijs Swartenbroekx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Depauw in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute Fernand Steurms shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattijs Swartenbroekx saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mattijs Swartenbroekx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernand Steurms, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind F.C.DE kampioenen's goalkeeper Mattijs Swartenbroekx, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Michael Depauw was the one to do the kick off. Mattijs Swartenbroekx showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Depauw, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The referee ignored F.C.DE kampioenen's protests and gave Armand Van De Wiele a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, F.C.DE kampioenen's Armand Van De Wiele got a free kick in the 64th minute. Fernand Steurms could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Mattijs Swartenbroekx made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in F.C.DE kampioenen's zone, Fernand Steurms stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mattijs Swartenbroekx came out of the goal and Fernand Steurms tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Bilzen's Fernand Steurms got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernand Steurms got free with Mattijs Swartenbroekx in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The F.C.DE kampioenen fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SC Bilzen were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
