The referee ignored Brasschaat's protests and gave Ricky Van Acht a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th match minute, Brasschaat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky Van Acht to maneuver through the defense. Niel De Coster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hans Valcke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristen Van Der Talen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute, Niel De Coster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hans Valcke made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kristen Van Der Talen in the 18th minute. 25 minutes into the game, Brasschaat's Robbie Portmans nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hans Valcke made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Frederic Mallecots showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emmanuel De Boel in the 30th minute of the match. Niel De Coster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederic Mallecots having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Hans Valcke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik-Jan Coussement, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Sebastian Armentier kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After 58 played minutes Brasschaat got a freekick which was hit by Serge Cox. Hans Valcke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robbie Portmans's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Atletico Berchem's Niel De Coster got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 72 minutes into the match, Atletico Berchem's goal looked a bit too open when Kristen Van Der Talen came free, but Hans Valcke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute Kristen Van Der Talen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Valcke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastian Armentier scored 2-0 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hans Valcke, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 80th match minute, Brasschaat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Max Salms to maneuver through the defense. Hans Valcke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robbie Portmans in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute Robbie Portmans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Valcke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phillipe Van Goitsenhoven kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. A hard shot by Louis Suteweij from long distance, 94 minutes into the match, got Frederic Mallecots's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 96th minute Kristen Van Der Talen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Valcke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brasschaat's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
