Loui Reniers's late challenge caught a KFC Beyne-Heusay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Loui Reniers helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FC Verberckt getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Loui Reniers hit a great ball. If Maurus Sustens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 68 played minutes FC Verberckt got a freekick which was hit by Vic Switten. In the 72nd minute, Izak Cesters hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind KFC Beyne-Heusay's goalkeeper Kenney Hoeybroeck, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 78 played minutes FC Verberckt got a freekick which was hit by Vic Switten. Wart Engelberchs struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Bas De Wortelaer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Beyne-Heusay. Bas De Wortelaer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wart Engelberchs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, Wart Engelberchs dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bas De Wortelaer, 1-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched KFC Beyne-Heusay eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
