An unexpectedly hard shot by Willy Cuppens in the 4th minute of play forced Ambly's goalkeeper Birger Van Hoof to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute of the match, Jonathan Merckx tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Armand Cockaerts saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Roderik Schepens might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Birger Van Hoof. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roderik Schepens ran back to his position shaking his head. Tommie Vinx's late challenge caught a Sint-Maria-Oudenhove 's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tommie Vinx helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th minute, Tommie Vinx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Merckx in the 12th minute of play forced Sint-Maria-Oudenhove 's goalkeeper Armand Cockaerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the game, Carl Kindermans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sint-Maria-Oudenhove 's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ambly the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ambly's Tommie Vinx got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 24th minute of the match, Jonathan Merckx tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Armand Cockaerts saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Willy Cuppens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Birger Van Hoof having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Roderik Schepens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sint-Maria-Oudenhove 's supporters rose to their feet, but Roderik Schepens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Birger Van Hoof breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Ambly getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Martial Walder hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the game, Martial Walder was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ambly's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sint-Maria-Oudenhove the free kick. In the 35th minute, Martial Walder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Siebe Mathy was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 36th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Roderik Schepens took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Birger Van Hoof. Birger Van Hoof dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 41 minutes of play, Sint-Maria-Oudenhove 's Roderik Schepens made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Birger Van Hoof was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roderik Schepens stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Jonathan Merckx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sint-Maria-Oudenhove getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Leon Liebrechts hit a great ball. When Matty Degraef came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Ambly fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matty Degraef couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Sint-Maria-Oudenhove 's zone, Matty Degraef stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armand Cockaerts came out of the goal and Matty Degraef tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Siebe Mathy hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Armand Cockaerts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Merckx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Matty Degraef had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Jonathan Merckx ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armand Cockaerts was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Matty Degraef received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Armand Cockaerts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roderik Schepens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Merckx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sint-Maria-Oudenhove walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
