Jonathan Merckx started the match with the kick off. Tommie Vinx could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Bas Van Cleijnenbreughel made a huge save. F.C.Stratus Kortenbos's Bas Van Cleijnenbreughel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martial Walder in the 6th minute of play. Abraham Baert kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Jonathan Merckx took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Bas Van Cleijnenbreughel to make any attempt to save it. Bas Van Cleijnenbreughel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Merckx in the 28th minute of the match. If Eddy De Coster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bas Van Cleijnenbreughel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martial Walder, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matty Degraef couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rob Lievens made a kick off. Bas Van Cleijnenbreughel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Merckx, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Bas Van Cleijnenbreughel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommie Vinx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manoel Baiano got free with Birger Van Hoof in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, F.C.Stratus Kortenbos's goal looked a bit too open when Tommie Vinx came free, but Bas Van Cleijnenbreughel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Rob Lievens took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Birger Van Hoof to make any attempt to save it. F.C.Stratus Kortenbos's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
