In the 19th minute Peter Klijnhens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Goffrey Niewens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dean Kest fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Goffrey Niewens having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benny Vos in the 44th minute of play forced Portolano JM's goalkeeper Tommi Wynaerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bartjan Engelboorgs's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Goffrey Niewens firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 46th minute, Niki Uyterhelcht hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benny Vos to strike the kick off in the second half.
