Jarno Verheugen was extremely unlucky when he, in the 9th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. A collision led to Herne getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Loui Debecker hit a great ball. Mathieu-Maxim De Loose kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Werner Vissenaeckens took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jean-Louis Susters. KV Blauw-zwart's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Mathieu-Maxim De Loose came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the KV Blauw-zwart fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mathieu-Maxim De Loose couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the match, Herne's Jarno Verheugen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jean-Louis Susters narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 27 minutes into the game, Mathieu-Maxim De Loose cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Artuur Luytens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 33rd minute, Mathieu-Maxim De Loose hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jean-Louis Susters took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frederik Huts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jarno Verheugen took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jean-Louis Susters. Jean-Louis Susters dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Herne's goalkeeper Artuur Luytens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Lauren De Putter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. KV Blauw-zwart's Jean-Louis Susters played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarno Verheugen in the 56th minute of play. Jarno Verheugen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Louis Susters having to interfere. Jarno Verheugen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Herne's Loui Debecker got a free kick in the 67th minute. After having played for 72 minutes, Mathieu-Maxim De Loose managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KV Blauw-zwart's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathieu-Maxim De Loose was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. KV Blauw-zwart's Jean-Louis Susters played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarno Verheugen in the 79th minute of play. Jarno Verheugen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jarno Verheugen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Herne's Rocky Decoster got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
