The Berlare fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, The Assasins's Lionel Valkenaers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yens De Bisschop narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gregorie Spoelbergs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josef Van Meerbeek, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After having played for 20 minutes, Albertus Nelleboedske managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Berlare's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albertus Nelleboedske was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, The Assasins's Mark Niewens got a free kick in the 22nd minute. If Mark Niewens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Lionel Valkenaers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 32nd minute, Joost Hacke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience held their breath when Gregory Herinckx in the 34th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Gregorie Spoelbergs's left hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josef Van Meerbeek in the 36th minute of play forced The Assasins's goalkeeper Gregorie Spoelbergs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Franck De Putter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albertus Nelleboedske in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gregorie Spoelbergs saved The Assasins from getting behind.

The wind increased when Josef Van Meerbeek made the kick off in the second half. Berlare's Yens De Bisschop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Goemyne in the 51st minute of play. The supporters of The Assasins booed when Berlare was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertus Nelleboedske didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albertus Nelleboedske might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gregorie Spoelbergs. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albertus Nelleboedske ran back to his position shaking his head. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for The Assasins! The referee gave Berlare a penalty, 58 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gregory Herinckx, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of The Assasins's Gregorie Spoelbergs. 0-2. Josef Van Meerbeek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 65 minutes into the match, The Assasins's goal looked a bit too open when Gustav De kaiser came free, but Gregorie Spoelbergs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Van Castel kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After 70 minutes, Gustav De kaiser mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Berlare and the The Assasins players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute, Gustav De kaiser hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Franck De Putter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yens De Bisschop was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. In the 81st match minute, Berlare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustav De kaiser to maneuver through the defense. When Franck De Putter came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the The Assasins fans jumped to their feet. But to his dismay, Lionel Valkenaers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 91st minute, Berlare's Josef Van Meerbeek dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. If Josef Van Meerbeek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Berlare walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
