In the 24th minute, one of KFC Borchtlombeek:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KFC Borchtlombeek. In the 28th match minute, KFC Borchtlombeek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonas Spoelbergh to maneuver through the defense. Stijn Van Geestel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierre-Olivier Godts, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 42 minutes into the match, KVSK Balgerhoeke's Pierre-Olivier Godts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stijn Van Geestel narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
