Jef Van Boxstael yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 26 minutes into the match, Knokke's Dre Klopterop sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rens Meersman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 28th minute, Tommie Tobbackers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tommie Tobbackers charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tommie Tobbackers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Knokke getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Tommie Tobbackers hit a great ball. If Dre Klopterop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rens Meersman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dre Klopterop in the 38th minute of play. Joris Huyghens charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joris Huyghens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 40th minute, one of KV Dessel:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KV Dessel. Karel-Jan Knoops sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Knokke's Alphonse Van Lint has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 48th minute.

In the 54th match minute, KV Dessel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danny Van Landewijck to maneuver through the defense. Jaques Vercammen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jef Van Boxstael tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th minute of the match Christoffel Lyens sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jef Van Boxstael skillfully saved the ball. Jaques Vercammen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jef Van Boxstael having to interfere. After having played for 71 minutes, Karel-Jan Knoops managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KV Dessel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karel-Jan Knoops was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dieter Kerkhove kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Rens Meersman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dre Klopterop's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommie Tobbackers got free with Rens Meersman in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 83rd minute Dre Klopterop shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rens Meersman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karel-Jan Knoops fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jef Van Boxstael having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Michael Van den Panhuijsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jef Van Boxstael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karel-Jan Knoops in the 94th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Knokke had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
