Beselare's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Avekapelle the free kick. When Avekapelle's Joachim Van Craesbeeck in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Philippe Boumans stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Achilles Heers. 0-2. The Beselare players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Avekapelle were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vince Uijterhoven was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hendrik Goos during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 51st match minute, Avekapelle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hendrik Goos to maneuver through the defense.
