In the 4th match minute, Club Vinkwijk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armand Gijsbrechts to maneuver through the defense. If Charly Laurent had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Berten van Kelfs might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bob Vollens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Berten van Kelfs ran back to his position shaking his head. Maarten Van Clynenbreugel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernard De Block in the 14th minute of the match. Bernard De Block might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maarten Van Clynenbreugel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bernard De Block ran back to his position shaking his head. Bob Vollens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Berten van Kelfs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maarten Van Clynenbreugel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernard De Block's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Charly Laurent received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Maarten Van Clynenbreugel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maarten Van Clynenbreugel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bernard De Block went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Maarten Van Clynenbreugel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernard De Block in the 44th minute of play. Bernard De Block received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Maarten Van Clynenbreugel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Club Vinkwijk players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Wepion were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Charly Laurent to strike the kick off in the second half. Maarten Van Clynenbreugel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charly Laurent in the 53rd minute of play. The supporters of Wepion booed when Club Vinkwijk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacques Coppens didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute, Erwin Bastiaens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute, Charly Laurent got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 58th minute, Bernard De Block ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maarten Van Clynenbreugel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. When Charly Laurent came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Wepion fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charly Laurent couldn't finish the play. Bernard De Block fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maarten Van Clynenbreugel having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Bernard De Block fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Maarten Van Clynenbreugel, passed just outside the right post. Club Vinkwijk's Maarten Van Clynenbreugel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charly Laurent in the 71st minute of play. In the 78th minute of the match, Charly Laurent tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Maarten Van Clynenbreugel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to Club Vinkwijk getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Erwin Bastiaens hit a great ball. Godfried vrolijx lost his temper 83 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 82 minutes into the game, one of Club Vinkwijk:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Kristof Velkeneers walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Bernard De Block in the 85thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Maarten Van Clynenbreugel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Kenn Suetens blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bob Vollens having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Wepion's zone, Toon Bekaert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bob Vollens came out of the goal and Toon Bekaert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bob Vollens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacques Coppens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wepion's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
