After some careless play in the Assenede defense, Jacky Seveneijnts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paul Horemans. The Assenede fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paul Horemans should have stopped the shot. If Henry De Messemaeckre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind SK Vinkenhoek's goalkeeper Wilfried Wittemans, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Henry De Messemaeckre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfried Wittemans having to interfere. When Jorn Hellemons fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Vinkenhoek's protests and gave Jorn Hellemons a yellow card for diving instead. After 63 played minutes SK Vinkenhoek got a freekick which was hit by Jorn Hellemons. Henry De Messemaeckre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfried Wittemans having to interfere. 68 minutes into the game, Bavo Toeback was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SK Vinkenhoek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Assenede the free kick. Bavo Toeback hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. The supporters of SK Vinkenhoek booed when Assenede was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steffen Vanden Broucke didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paul Horemans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacky Seveneijnts in the 91st minute. The supporters of SK Vinkenhoek booed when Assenede was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry De Messemaeckre didn't get a good kick on the ball.
