Octavian Verduijn got his second yellow card in the match during the 54th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Ploegsteert getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Octavian Verduijn hit a great ball. 56 minutes into the match, Club Machelen's Daan Schoenmaekers broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of Club Machelen booed when Ploegsteert was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovanny Hofnagels didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ploegsteert's Adolphe Breugelmans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Etienne Van Craesbeeck in the 81st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Club Machelen's zone, Lex Van Nel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan-Pieter Vercasteren came out of the goal and Lex Van Nel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 87 minutes, Gustav Deschrijver mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Machelen and the Ploegsteert players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, Ploegsteert's Kristen Imbreghts dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. After some careless play in the Ploegsteert defense, Etienne Van Craesbeeck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adolphe Breugelmans. The Ploegsteert fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adolphe Breugelmans should have stopped the shot. Ploegsteert's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
