In the 2nd minute, Bram Borglevens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as VC Bruyelle's Michael Beaufort slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Selleslags. That made the score 1-0 after 4 minutes of play. With 8 minutes on the clock, Mattheo Kant commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 10th minute there was a penalty for Rumes. Bram Borglevens stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Balthazar Niewens. 1-1. Mitch Moreau hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Gunter Schooters was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 15th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 21st minute Gabriel Michiels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Balthazar Niewens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jos Colebinders could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Jonathan Selleslags made a huge save. After having played for 32 minutes, Ivo Stoorms managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rumes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivo Stoorms was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jos Colebinders fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Selleslags having to interfere. Jonathan Selleslags made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jos Colebinders in the 36th minute. Ivo Stoorms received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Balthazar Niewens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivo Stoorms in the 44th minute of play forced VC Bruyelle's goalkeeper Balthazar Niewens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jos Colebinders scored 3-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Selleslags, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivo Stoorms made a kick off. If Jos Colebinders had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. Jonathan Selleslags showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jos Colebinders, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Balthazar Niewens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivo Stoorms in the 78th minute of the match. In the 84thth minute of the game Jos Colebinders who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rumes's Jonathan Selleslags was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dean Alaerts's late challenge caught a VC Bruyelle's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dean Alaerts helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th minute Jos Colebinders shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Selleslags saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
