Frederick Van Meerbeek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Renzo Humbelets having to make a save. Perry Van Goolen succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 13th playminute. Diederick Klijnhens struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Gert-Jan Laporte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wancennes. Simon Vrancken's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gert-Jan Laporte read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Bavo Van Goolen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gert-Jan Laporte was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. 38 minutes into the match, Wancennes's goal looked a bit too open when Frederick Van Meerbeek came free, but Renzo Humbelets reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diederick Klijnhens stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Simon Vrancken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gert-Jan Laporte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Perry Van Goolen in the 57th minute of play forced Wancennes's goalkeeper Renzo Humbelets to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Geert Van Riel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Diederick Klijnhens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wancennes's supporters rose to their feet, but Diederick Klijnhens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gert-Jan Laporte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diederick Klijnhens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diederick Klijnhens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gert-Jan Laporte having to interfere. Bavo Van Goolen's late challenge caught a VC Nevele's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bavo Van Goolen helped the player get up and apologised. In the 74th minute, Bavo Van Goolen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute of the match Stein Van Der Eyde shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Renzo Humbelets showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Gert-Jan Laporte was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Diederick Klijnhens capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Diederick Klijnhens really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Gert-Jan Laporte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Wijgaert, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The VC Nevele fans cheered their team off the field, for while Wancennes had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
