Andrew Hoolemans took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joos Correyns. Kortrijk's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaron Ottevaere in the 19th minute of play forced Kortrijk's goalkeeper Joos Correyns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richey Vanpevenaeyge in the 22nd minute of play forced KAA Darisdonk's goalkeeper Yvan Geldhof to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yvan Geldhof showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richey Vanpevenaeyge, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Kortrijk's Richey Vanpevenaeyge got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ruben Neesens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Richey Vanpevenaeyge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Birger Loozen's late challenge caught a Kortrijk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Birger Loozen helped the player get up and apologised. In the 38th match minute, KAA Darisdonk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Birger Loozen to maneuver through the defense. If Wayne Huysmans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Ruben Neesens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aaron Ottevaere fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joos Correyns having to interfere. Aaron Ottevaere sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ruben Neesens might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joos Correyns. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ruben Neesens ran back to his position shaking his head. Yvan Geldhof showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richey Vanpevenaeyge, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 86 minutes into the game, Wayne Huysmans recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Yvan Geldhof. Wayne Huysmans showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. After a rather tough play, Kortrijk's Robin Bouwmans got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Kortrijk's zone, Aaron Ottevaere stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joos Correyns came out of the goal and Aaron Ottevaere tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ruben Neesens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Kortrijk players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
