Fernand Heirpoel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ben Van Der Meeren, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kristiaan Figaro during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ben Van Der Meeren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fernand Heirpoel having to make a save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herbert Uijterhove made a kick off. Ben Van Der Meeren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernand Heirpoel having to interfere. If Ben Van Der Meeren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to AFC Bevere getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Hendrik Mertens hit a great ball. Bilzen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC Bevere the free kick. After 66 played minutes Bilzen got a freekick which was hit by Jullian Schautens. 68 minutes into the match, AFC Bevere's Ronny Hollants sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Georges-Philippe Hennes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Octavian Thielens got free with Georges-Philippe Hennes in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fernand Heirpoel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ben Van Der Meeren in the 71st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Remi Vanhove during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Remi Vanhove hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herbert Uijterhove in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Georges-Philippe Hennes saved Bilzen from getting behind. 80 minutes into the match, Ben Van Der Meeren notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of AFC Bevere's Fernand Heirpoel. Fernand Heirpoel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Kristiaan Figaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AFC Bevere's Fernand Heirpoel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristiaan Figaro in the 88th minute of play. Fernand Heirpoel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ben Van Der Meeren in the 89th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in AFC Bevere's zone, Ben Van Der Meeren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernand Heirpoel came out of the goal and Ben Van Der Meeren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee ended the match the Bilzen players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
