With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rocky Pelleman in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karel-Jan Uijterhoeven saved Lembeke from getting behind. Karel-Jan Uijterhoeven showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rocky Pelleman, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. When Jerom Coosemans came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the FC Athis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerom Coosemans couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rocky Pelleman in the 16th minute of play forced Lembeke's goalkeeper Karel-Jan Uijterhoeven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rocky Pelleman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Karel-Jan Uijterhoeven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rocky Pelleman in the 21st minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, FC Athis's goal looked a bit too open when Corneel Van de Gaer came free, but Jaspar Smet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rocky Pelleman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerom Coosemans blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karel-Jan Uijterhoeven having to make a save. If Gert-Jan Van der Weijden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Karel-Jan Uijterhoeven made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Jerom Coosemans sent off a good shot on target. Jerom Coosemans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd match minute, Lembeke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Deroek to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Stephen Sproten sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lembeke's Karel-Jan Uijterhoeven didn't even have to move. A collision led to Lembeke getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Gert-Jan Van der Weijden hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the match Jerom Coosemans climbed in front of goal and pressed up 1-1 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Karel-Jan Uijterhoeven. Jan Deroek's late challenge caught a FC Athis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan Deroek helped the player get up and apologised. Jan Deroek hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Stephen Sproten, 71 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Lembeke getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Mike Van Meerbek hit a great ball. Karel-Jan Uijterhoeven was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Rocky Pelleman capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rocky Pelleman really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Corneel Van de Gaer in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jaspar Smet saved FC Athis from getting behind. After having played for 85 minutes, Corneel Van de Gaer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lembeke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Corneel Van de Gaer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jaspar Smet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andries Laeremans in the 92nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Corneel Van de Gaer in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jaspar Smet saved FC Athis from getting behind. The FC Athis supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Athis would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
