Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Daan Vischkens got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind KFC Geer's goalkeeper Edgard Van Goitsenhoven, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 5th minute Daan Vischkens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Van Goitsenhoven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeroen Hoes in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgard Van Goitsenhoven saved KFC Geer from getting behind. When Goffrey Van Looy fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KFC Geer's protests and gave Goffrey Van Looy a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to KFC Geer getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Goffrey Van Looy hit a great ball. If Daan Vischkens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Zottegem's zone, Ruben De Maerschalck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Glen Van Lint came out of the goal and Ruben De Maerschalck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 21 in the game by Ruben De Maerschalck from a close distance when the talented Glen Van Lint managed to make a qualified save. Zottegem's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in Zottegem's zone, Arnaud Wils stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Glen Van Lint came out of the goal and Arnaud Wils tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute, Steven Sannen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edgard Van Goitsenhoven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeroen Hoes in the 38th minute of the match. If Arnaud Wils had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 57 minutes of play, KFC Geer's Ruben De Maerschalck made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Glen Van Lint was left in no man's land by his defense there! Glen Van Lint made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaud Wils in the 61st minute of play. If Daan Vischkens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Ruben De Maerschalck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Zottegem booed when KFC Geer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Goffrey Van Looy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeroen Hoes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Edgard Van Goitsenhoven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daan Vischkens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Zottegem players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for KFC Geer.
