The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Max Oliviers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo Tombeurs having to interfere. The supporters of Kontich booed when KV Vleteren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Max Oliviers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Max De Brouwer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Robbe Roockeloes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Theo Tombeurs was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Max Oliviers showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. If Fre Verheije had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pascal Stroobants short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Theo Tombeurs to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 21st minute, Pascal Stroobant fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Jimmy Debecker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute, Pascal Stroobant left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KV Vleteren fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 35 minutes into the match, Jimmy Debecker had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robbe Roockeloes. KV Vleteren's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jimmy Debecker was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Robbe Roockeloes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimmy Debecker, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Renaud Fouquet's late challenge caught a KV Vleteren's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Renaud Fouquet helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th minute, Pascal Stroobant left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KV Vleteren fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 62nd minute, Jullian Olemans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jimmy Debecker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. KV Vleteren fully deserved thier win.
