Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Boudewijn Goddez kicked off to start the match. Yanis Oliviers acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 5th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Etienne Schipmans. 12 minutes into the match, FC Elst's goal looked a bit too open when Pierrot Haentjens came free, but Thomas Reijnders reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Arsene De Raedemaecker managed to get in a good position for a shot. KFC Waalshoek's supporters rose to their feet, but Arsene De Raedemaecker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Reijnders breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 17 minutes into the match, FC Elst's goal looked a bit too open when Pierrot Haentjens came free, but Thomas Reijnders reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, KFC Waalshoek's Yanis Oliviers got control of the ball when Andy De Roest tried to sneak it across the goal line. A hard shot by Etienne Schipmans from long distance, 26 minutes into the match, got Yanis Oliviers's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Tom Soetemans charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tom Soetemans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. It was beautiful to see FC Elst's Edward Iven in action when he in the 29th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Yanis Oliviers made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Boudewijn Goddez sent off a good shot on target. In the 35th minute, Albert Daneels ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thomas Reijnders was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 38 minutes into the game, Arsene De Raedemaecker was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KFC Waalshoek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Elst the free kick. The supporters of FC Elst booed when KFC Waalshoek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsene De Raedemaecker didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boudewijn Goddez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Yanis Oliviers made a huge save. When Arsene De Raedemaecker was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 43 minutes had been played. In the 43rd minute, Arsene De Raedemaecker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andy De Roest sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pierrot Haentjens to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Daneels in the 53rd minute of play forced FC Elst's goalkeeper Thomas Reijnders to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomas Reijnders made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Albert Daneels sent off a good shot on target. Yanis Oliviers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boudewijn Goddez, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After some careless play in the KFC Waalshoek defense, Boudewijn Goddez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yanis Oliviers. The KFC Waalshoek fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yanis Oliviers should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brain Van Den Broeck during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of KFC Waalshoek booed when FC Elst was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brain Van Den Broeck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albert Daneels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Reijnders having to interfere. FC Elst's Thomas Reijnders played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur-Maurits Wortelers in the 73rd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, FC Elst's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Daneels came free, but Thomas Reijnders reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to KFC Waalshoek getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Tom Soetemans hit a great ball. If Boudewijn Goddez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 78 minutes into the game, FC Elst's Andy De Roest nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yanis Oliviers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Albert Daneels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Thomas Reijnders tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Albert Daneels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 88 played minutes KFC Waalshoek got a freekick which was hit by Tran Vissenaekens. The supporters of FC Elst booed when KFC Waalshoek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Daneels didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pierrot Haentjens charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pierrot Haentjens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 96 played minutes KFC Waalshoek got a freekick which was hit by Pierrot Haentjens. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Boudewijn Goddez in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yanis Oliviers saved KFC Waalshoek from getting behind. FC Elst were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of KFC Waalshoek for a fine match.
