Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Lorenz Vanpevenaeyge got the match started through his kick off. The supporters of AFC Cosenberg booed when Lierde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Van Lueven didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego Wagemans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob Overloop, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. If Nicolaas Sevenans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, AFC Cosenberg's Stefan De Groote got control of the ball when Nicolaas Sevenans tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 17 minutes, Diederick Pelleman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Cosenberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diederick Pelleman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Nicolaas Sevenans managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lierde's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolaas Sevenans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stefan De Groote breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stefan De Groote made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorenz Vanpevenaeyge in the 24th minute of play. Lorenz Vanpevenaeyge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan De Groote having to interfere. Nickolas Pancken was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 31 minutes into the match. The referee gave AFC Cosenberg a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Noel Van Balen, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lierde's Diego Wagemans. 0-1. When Jacob Overloop came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the AFC Cosenberg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacob Overloop couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacob Overloop made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicolaas Sevenans during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of AFC Cosenberg booed when Lierde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolaas Sevenans didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute, Wim Vereijt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diego Wagemans was a little too slow when Jacob Overloop got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 0-2. In the 63rd minute Jacob Overloop shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Wagemans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicolaas Sevenans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan De Groote having to interfere. Nicolaas Sevenans might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stefan De Groote. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolaas Sevenans ran back to his position shaking his head. After 77 minutes, Alex Vercruysse mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lierde and the AFC Cosenberg players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th minute, Alex Vercruysse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Lierde's zone, Jacob Overloop stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Wagemans came out of the goal and Jacob Overloop tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diederick Pelleman's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Diego Wagemans firmly grabbed it by the left post. Jacob Overloop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Wagemans having to interfere. Lierde's Diego Wagemans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacob Overloop in the 85th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Lierde's goal looked a bit too open when Jacob Overloop came free, but Diego Wagemans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute, Nicolaas Sevenans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 93 minutes into the match, Diederick Pelleman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diego Wagemans. Lierde's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diederick Pelleman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3.
