Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kurt Van Der Meren started the match with the kick off. If Ronald Pardons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Van De Wyngaert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Gerard Delamenin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute Jorge Van De Wyngaert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerard Delamenin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kurt Van Der Meren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xander De Coster's late challenge caught a SC Grobbendonk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xander De Coster helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th minute, one of KV Club Brugge:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KV Club Brugge. The referee gave SC Grobbendonk a penalty, 17 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mark Francx, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of KV Club Brugge's Gerard Delamenin. 1-0. SC Grobbendonk's Loid de Neutere shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 22nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gerard Delamenin but with some difficulty. 31 minutes into the match, SC Grobbendonk's Jorge Van De Wyngaert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gerard Delamenin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorge Van De Wyngaert in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gerard Delamenin saved KV Club Brugge from getting behind. Jarno De Malier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Van Der Meren in the 40th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the game, Ronald Pardons cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Gerard Delamenin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Ronald Pardons's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gerard Delamenin was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jorge Van De Wyngaert made a kick off. Johan Schrevens struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Jarno De Malier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KV Club Brugge. Kurt Van Der Meren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarno De Malier having to interfere. After 57 minutes, Mark Francx mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Grobbendonk and the KV Club Brugge players grew even worse after the yellow card. SC Grobbendonk's Jarno De Malier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bertan Dobbeleir in the 62nd minute of play. Johan Schrevens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jarno De Malier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerard Delamenin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronald Pardons in the 68th minute of play. Mattheo De Hoef hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. SC Grobbendonk's Ronald Pardons got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76th minute, Ronald Pardons got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Jorge Van De Wyngaert came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the SC Grobbendonk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Van De Wyngaert couldn't finish the play. Jarno De Malier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Van Der Meren in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Ronald Pardons got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Bertan Dobbeleir fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KV Club Brugge's protests and gave Bertan Dobbeleir a yellow card for diving instead. In the 88th match minute, KV Club Brugge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertan Dobbeleir to maneuver through the defense. Gerard Delamenin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronald Pardons's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Bernd Armentier kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Arnoud De Rudder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Kurt Van Der Meren came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the KV Club Brugge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kurt Van Der Meren couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, KV Club Brugge's Bertan Dobbeleir got a free kick in the 97th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SC Grobbendonk fans cheered their team off the field, for while KV Club Brugge had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
