Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Willem Van Heurick made the kick off which started today's match. After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Herman Hostens managed to get in a good position for a shot. KFC Edegem's supporters rose to their feet, but Herman Hostens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Ryers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 5 minutes, Andrew Valckx mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KFC Edegem and the Tongeren players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 6 played minutes KFC Edegem got a freekick which was hit by Andrew Valckx. 8 minutes into the match, Willem Van Heurick had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rudi Herpoel. KFC Edegem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Willem Van Heurick was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Willem Van Heurick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Rudi Herpoel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Willem Van Heurick in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rudi Herpoel saved KFC Edegem from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willem Van Heurick in the 22nd minute of play forced KFC Edegem's goalkeeper Rudi Herpoel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Willem Van Heurick struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Rudi Herpoel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tongeren. Johnny Berchmans kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Rudi Herpoel came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Tongeren's Steffe De Ruyter. But to his dismay, Steffe De Ruyter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Willem Van Heurick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Tongeren were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Herman Hostens was the one to do the kick off. After 58 minutes, Franky Ruttens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tongeren and the KFC Edegem players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 played minutes Tongeren got a freekick which was hit by Franky Ruttens. Herman Hostens took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Richard Ryers. Richard Ryers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Steffe De Ruyter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Rudi Herpoel made a huge save. Tongeren's Steffe De Ruyter got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rudi Herpoel stood somewhat misplaced when Willem Van Heurick came free in front of goal and shot 1-3 to the left of him in the 73 minute. Rudi Herpoel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Willem Van Heurick's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Willem Van Heurick took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Rudi Herpoel to make any attempt to save it. Tongeren's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
