An unexpectedly hard shot by Basiel Van Dessel in the 3rd minute of play forced krokante frietjes's goalkeeper Jelle Huvenaerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Itegem's Dante Laureys proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Itegem from getting a goal against them. Basiel Van Dessel struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Jelle Huvenaerts didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itegem. A collision led to krokante frietjes getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Albertus Tuytgans hit a great ball. Luuk Vloebergh was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 18th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 20 minutes, Wilfried Ryers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. krokante frietjes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilfried Ryers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edward Verhengen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Dante Laureys tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edward Verhengen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute Wilfried Ryers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Laureys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Itegem's Basiel Van Dessel got a free kick in the 45th minute. With his leg Dante Laureys managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when krokante frietjes's Edward Verhengen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Albertus Tuytgans kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilfried Ryers to strike the kick off in the second half. Tran Vissenaeckens charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tran Vissenaeckens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of krokante frietjes booed when Itegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tran Vissenaeckens didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the game, Richy Cremers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. krokante frietjes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itegem the free kick. Itegem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilfried Ryers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Dante Laureys took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilfried Ryers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
