The supporters of KAA Wauveringen booed when krokante frietjes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Van Aken didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edward Verhengen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Jonathan Mathy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Mathy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilfried Ryers, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind krokante frietjes's goalkeeper Jelle Huvenaerts, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 33 played minutes, krokante frietjes's Marcus Van Achteren shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Mathy came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in krokante frietjes reached it. Jonathan Mathy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Van Aken in the 35th minute of play. Edward Verhengen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Jonathan Mathy made a huge save. When Tony De Werdt fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored krokante frietjes's protests and gave Tony De Werdt a yellow card for diving instead. After 41 played minutes krokante frietjes got a freekick which was hit by Tony De Werdt. If Gabriel Van Aghten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tony De Werdt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Jonathan Mathy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 56th minute, Edward Verhengen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to KAA Wauveringen getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Goffrey Dekens hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edward Verhengen in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Mathy saved KAA Wauveringen from getting behind. 68 minutes into the game, Wilfried Ryers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Jonathan Mathy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Edward Verhengen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Mathy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. krokante frietjes's Jelle Huvenaerts proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save krokante frietjes from getting a goal against them. After 76 minutes of play krokante frietjes's Tony De Werdt was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. With a little luck, krokante frietjes's Jelle Huvenaerts got control of the ball when Gregoire Koenens tried to sneak it across the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, krokante frietjes's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Van Aghten came free, but Jelle Huvenaerts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
