Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Wilfried De Smet took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 2 played minutes Zerkegem got a freekick which was hit by Abraham Van der Weijden. Daniel Van Den Abeele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Maertens having to interfere. Mateo Maertens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karel-Jan Van Haght, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the match, Reinard Sustens had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andrew De Metser. Zele's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reinard Sustens was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Mateo Maertens made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Siebe Peten sent off a good shot on target. Wilfried De Smet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karel-Jan Van Haght in the 21st minute of play forced Zerkegem's goalkeeper Mateo Maertens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Van Den Abeele took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mateo Maertens. Mateo Maertens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Abraham Van der Weijden kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Mateo Maertens acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 31st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Stanny Susters. In the 34th minute, Siebe Peten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zele's Daniel Van Den Abeele got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Van Den Abeele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Maertens having to interfere. Zerkegem's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Karel-Jan Van Haght 39 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. Karel-Jan Van Haght fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Maertens having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Karel-Jan Van Haght stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Reinard Sustens who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Andrew De Metser when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Mateo Maertens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karel-Jan Van Haght in the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Van Den Abeele in the 61st minute of play forced Zerkegem's goalkeeper Mateo Maertens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Zerkegem's goal looked a bit too open when Karel-Jan Van Haght came free, but Mateo Maertens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, Marcus Volders was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zerkegem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zele the free kick. Marcus Volders hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, Stanny Susters sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Zerkegem's Mateo Maertens didn't even have to move. Abraham Van der Weijden hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Siebe Peten kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. When Zele's Daniel Van Den Abeele in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zerkegem's goalie prevented a goal. With a little luck, Zele's Andrew De Metser got control of the ball when Reinard Sustens tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Van Den Abeele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Maertens having to interfere. 93 minutes into the game, Alfred De Custer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zerkegem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zele the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Van Den Abeele in the 96th minute of play forced Zerkegem's goalkeeper Mateo Maertens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zele's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
