Jules Heirpoel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Karel-Jan De Meyer managed to get in a good position for a shot. If Karel-Jan De Meyer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Glenn Van Caubergen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karel-Jan De Meyer in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norbert Blanchaert saved AFC Nivelles from getting behind. When Ramon Goddez came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the AFC Nivelles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramon Goddez couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Josef Rummens, 69 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Tommas Van Elsen kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After 72 played minutes, AFC Nivelles's Josef Rummens shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jules Heirpoel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AFC Nivelles reached it. Fc idegem's Jules Heirpoel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon Goddez in the 73rd minute of play. Brent Vrins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Jules Heirpoel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fc idegem's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
