The supporters of Nederename booed when Club Malle was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ewout Deckers didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tran Ilegems had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reinard Merckx's late challenge caught a Nederename's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Club Malle's Jeffrey Weygaers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rob Liboton in the 24th minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lode Jennis was the one to do the kick off. Tran Ilegems fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeffrey Weygaers having to interfere. Lode Jennis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Etienne De Raemaekers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. A murmur of surprise went through the audience when Nederename's Guillaume Hoes after having done a couple of nice dribblings in the 64th minute of the game fired away a shot to his disappointment passed just outside the right post. When Tran Ilegems came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Nederename fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tran Ilegems couldn't finish the play. If Tran Ilegems had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ewout Deckers fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Malle's protests and gave Ewout Deckers a yellow card for diving instead. Rob Liboton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Jeffrey Weygaers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tran Ilegems got free with Jeffrey Weygaers in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Club Malle getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Reinard Merckx hit a great ball. Nederename's Rob Liboton got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. During the 96th minute of the match Reinard Merckx completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Reinard Merckx a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Jeffrey Weygaers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tran Ilegems in the 98th minute. The Club Malle fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Nederename were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
