The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adolf Van Haerschot showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Mark Gijselinx came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the RSC Adegem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Gijselinx couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, RSC Adegem's Adolf Van Haerschot got control of the ball when Perry Snyers tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 41st minute, Mark Gijselinx ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roderik Koppens was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1.

The wind increased when Maurice Godts made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to KFC Leopoldsburg getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Philippe-Arnaud Huyghens hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, Luk Van de Poel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Roderik Koppens, 0-2. Izak Valckenaers kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Luk Van de Poel managed to get in a good position for a shot. RSC Adegem's supporters rose to their feet, but Luk Van de Poel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roderik Koppens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Perry Snyers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Perry Snyers in the 80th minute of play forced RSC Adegem's goalkeeper Adolf Van Haerschot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, KFC Leopoldsburg's Maurice Godts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adolf Van Haerschot narrowly saved just below the crossbar. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing RSC Adegem would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
