Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Enzo Minnen got the match started through his kick off. Charles-Louis Van Der Straeten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laurent Van Dock in the 3rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Wassegem's Richard Van de cauter got a free kick in the 14th minute. Charles-Louis Van Der Straeten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bram Lissens, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Wassegem's Gilbert Iven played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enzo Minnen in the 20th minute of play. Gilbert Iven made an important save on a dangerous shot by Camiel Haeselaers in the 30th minute. Bram Lissens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the match, Wassegem's Bram Lissens sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Charles-Louis Van Der Straeten narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Herbesthal's Charles-Louis Van Der Straeten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurent Van Dock in the 39th minute of play. When Frits Petermans fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Herbesthal's protests and gave Frits Petermans a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Wassegem booed when Herbesthal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frits Petermans didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute, Bram Lissens made a precise shot to the right of Charles-Louis Van Der Straeten. Herbesthal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Charles-Louis Van Der Straeten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimmy De Tapp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laurent Van Dock to make the kick off. Enzo Minnen scored 1-2 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilbert Iven, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With an all-out effort, Wassegem's Charles-Louis Van Der Straeten threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Laurent Van Dock, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Camiel Haeselaers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 83 minutes, Bram Lissens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wassegem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bram Lissens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute, Herbesthal's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Laurent Van Dock fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Camiel Haeselaers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wassegem's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
