In the 4th minute of the game, Reinard Goovaers landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Bill Verdeyen charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bill Verdeyen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 4 minutes into the game, one of FC Stuiven:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Lander Koppens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sylven Schuts having to interfere. Lander Koppens hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Kieth De Raeve showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carel Wijnants, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Stuiven's zone, Nicolas Borginions stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sylven Schuts came out of the goal and Nicolas Borginions tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dominic Villyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 30 minutes into the match, Lander Koppens had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sylven Schuts. FC Stuiven's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lander Koppens was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Dominic Villyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sylven Schuts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Borginions, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute Nicolas Borginions shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sylven Schuts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Nicolas Borginions got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicolas Borginions received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Sylven Schuts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicolas Borginions made a kick off. Dominic Villyn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Kieth De Raeve tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Nicolas Borginions managed to get in a good position for a shot. Munkzwalm's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolas Borginions was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sylven Schuts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carel Wijnants in the 73rd minute of play forced Munkzwalm's goalkeeper Kieth De Raeve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute, Michiel Petermans had to leave the field with a concussion. Ief Huveneers hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the match, FC Stuiven's Bram Van Den Broek broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Lander Koppens's late challenge caught a FC Stuiven's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lander Koppens helped the player get up and apologised.
