In the 26th minute, Charles Huyghebaert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in East-Flanders's zone, Reinard Goovaers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilliam Mattheijs came out of the goal and Reinard Goovaers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilliam Mattheijs made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinard Goovaers in the 32nd minute. Yvan Selleslags fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kieth De Raeve having to interfere. After having played for 41 minutes, Yvan Selleslags managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. East-Flanders's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yvan Selleslags was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Yvan Selleslags had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yvan Selleslags fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kieth De Raeve having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Munkzwalm's goal looked a bit too open when Yvan Selleslags came free, but Kieth De Raeve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicolas Borginions was the one to do the kick off. East-Flanders's Yvan Selleslags got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 57 minutes into the game, East-Flanders's Enzo De Cat nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kieth De Raeve made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 61st match minute, East-Flanders was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulus Roscams to maneuver through the defense. Gilliam Mattheijs stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reinard Goovaers's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Dirk Winnepenninckx kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Enzo De Cat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kieth De Raeve having to interfere. Munkzwalm's Kieth De Raeve played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yvan Selleslags in the 85th minute of play. Kieth De Raeve made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yvan Selleslags in the 87th minute of play. After having played for 89 minutes, Yvan Selleslags managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. East-Flanders's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yvan Selleslags was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95th minute, Munkzwalm's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Enzo De Cat fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the final whistle sounded East-Flanders left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Munkzwalm.
