If Mathias Van Achtens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Hotton's Guillaume De Coninck got a free kick in the 8th minute. After having played for 11 minutes, Hugo Billen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KVS branst's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugo Billen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dre Steenberghs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ignace De Wortelaer having to interfere. Ignace De Wortelaer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilian De Groote, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hugo Billen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny De Vadder having to interfere. Dre Steenberghs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Ignace De Wortelaer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Dre Steenberghs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hotton's supporters rose to their feet, but Dre Steenberghs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ignace De Wortelaer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Hotton defense, Mathias Van Achtens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benny De Vadder. The Hotton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benny De Vadder should have stopped the shot. In the 33rd minute, Dre Steenberghs made a precise shot to the right of Ignace De Wortelaer. KVS branst's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Ignace De Wortelaer came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Hotton's Dre Steenberghs. But to his dismay, Dre Steenberghs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Claude De Bougne kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dre Steenberghs in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ignace De Wortelaer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hugo Billen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny De Vadder having to interfere. Hugo Billen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Benny De Vadder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dre Steenberghs was the one to do the kick off. Hugo Billen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny De Vadder having to interfere. Ignace De Wortelaer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dre Steenberghs's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Gilian De Groote could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Ignace De Wortelaer made a huge save. 81 minutes into the match, KVS branst's goalkeeper Ignace De Wortelaer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilian De Groote. If Gilian De Groote had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacobus Rondas hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hugo Billen in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benny De Vadder prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 94 minutes, Mathias Van Achtens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KVS branst's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathias Van Achtens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Hotton booed when KVS branst was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harrie Louckx didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, KVS branst's goal looked a bit too open when Dre Steenberghs came free, but Ignace De Wortelaer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
