Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jarno Vleminx got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans de Pelsmaeker in the 9th minute of play forced Benfica Lisboà's goalkeeper Felix Teunens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute, Christian Verstappen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benfica Lisboà's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Moorsele the free kick. In the 15th match minute, Benfica Lisboà was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Winnepenninck to maneuver through the defense. Vince Van Geel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Erik-Jan Van Meel made a huge save. Benfica Lisboà's Jarno Vleminx got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Vince Van Geel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hans de Pelsmaeker in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Felix Teunens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hans de Pelsmaeker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jarno Vleminx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Erik-Jan Van Meel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erik-Jan Van Meel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vince Van Geel in the 38th minute. In the 40th match minute, Benfica Lisboà was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vince Van Geel to maneuver through the defense. Hans de Pelsmaeker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hans de Pelsmaeker made a kick off. The supporters of Benfica Lisboà booed when Moorsele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chris-George Swinnen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute of the match Theo Koninkx sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erik-Jan Van Meel skillfully saved the ball. In the 73rd minute, Jarno Vleminx left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Benfica Lisboà fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 77 minutes into the match, Benfica Lisboà's Theo Koninkx broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 84 minutes into the match, Moorsele's goal looked a bit too open when Jarno Vleminx came free, but Erik-Jan Van Meel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jarno Vleminx in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erik-Jan Van Meel saved Moorsele from getting behind. After 88th play minutes Vince Van Geel shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Erik-Jan Van Meel and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 91st minute Vince Van Geel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik-Jan Van Meel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jarno Vleminx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erik-Jan Van Meel was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Moorsele's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
