The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Erik-Jan Van Meel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sam De Strijcker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bjorn Robin succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 5th playminute. Erik-Jan Van Meel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sam De Strijcker in the 8th minute of play. Moorsele's Erik-Jan Van Meel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sam De Strijcker in the 9th minute of play. Hans de Pelsmaeker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaud Mampaerts having to interfere. A collision led to Zichem getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Herbert de Neuyter hit a great ball. Sam De Strijcker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erik-Jan Van Meel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Zichem's Bjorn Robin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erik-Jan Van Meel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arnaud Mampaerts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans de Pelsmaeker in the 23rd minute of play. Sam De Strijcker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bjorn Robin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ernest De Vlaeminck during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Ernest De Vlaeminck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Bjorn Robin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Sam De Strijcker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sam De Strijcker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik-Jan Van Meel having to interfere.

The wind increased when Sam De Strijcker made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Zichem's Dennis Petermans got a free kick in the 52nd minute. If Joerie Bauweleers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Zichem's Sam De Strijcker in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Moorsele's goalie prevented a goal. Bjorn Robin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sam De Strijcker might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erik-Jan Van Meel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sam De Strijcker ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 63rd minute Sam De Strijcker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik-Jan Van Meel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 72nd minute by Joerie Bauweleers got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Hans de Pelsmaeker was extremely unlucky when he, in the 74th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Moorsele's Joerie Bauweleers got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sam De Strijcker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bjorn Robin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erik-Jan Van Meel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sam De Strijcker in the 85th minute of the match. In the 88th match minute, Moorsele was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeffrey Schipmans to maneuver through the defense. Erik-Jan Van Meel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam De Strijcker, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 96 minutes into the match, Joerie Bauweleers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnaud Mampaerts. Zichem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joerie Bauweleers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
