Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Michelbeke's Ferdinand Coussement started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th match minute, FC CONGO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julius Slegers to maneuver through the defense. Matt Verelst missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 11 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Sebastien Steckens right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdinand Coussement in the 13th minute of play forced FC CONGO's goalkeeper Sebastien Steckens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC CONGO's zone, Rudy Debock stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastien Steckens came out of the goal and Rudy Debock tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ferdinand Coussement sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rudy Debock could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Sebastien Steckens made a huge save. Lex Kortens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Louis De Baere, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute, Arsene De Lauw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Michelbeke's Robbrecht Capelle got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute, Ief De Vos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lex Kortens was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 43 minutes into the game, FC CONGO's Ief De Vos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lex Kortens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Louis De Baere received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Lex Kortens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Louis De Baere stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudy Debock in the 54th minute of play forced FC CONGO's goalkeeper Sebastien Steckens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmond De Rijck kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Mathieux Van Daelen was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 56th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ferdinand Coussement sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Michelbeke booed when FC CONGO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Louis De Baere didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ief De Vos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Lex Kortens when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ferdinand Coussement received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Sebastien Steckens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michelbeke's Ferdinand Coussement got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sebastien Steckens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rudy Debock's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Ferdinand Coussement fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastien Steckens having to interfere. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Michelbeke's goalkeeper Lex Kortens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sebastien Steckens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdinand Coussement in the 91st minute of play.
