When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Daniel Roeland sped through rsc superjupiler's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joonatan Gijselinx. Joonatan Gijselinx stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Roeland's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. When Jorn Hollants fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored rsc superjupiler's protests and gave Jorn Hollants a yellow card for diving instead. When FC Club Brugge's Daniel Roeland in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 27th minute Jorn Hollants shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brend Mestdagh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Maurus Van Hole hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. rsc superjupiler's Joonatan Gijselinx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anthoon Gyselinckx in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute, FC Club Brugge's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jorn Hollants fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 41 played minutes FC Club Brugge got a freekick which was hit by Louis Focquier. When Mathieux Engelberchs fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Club Brugge's protests and gave Mathieux Engelberchs a yellow card for diving instead. Mathieux Engelberchs hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Daniel Roeland made the kick off in the second half. Daniel Roeland's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joonatan Gijselinx read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by rsc superjupiler's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. David Standaers was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Club Brugge's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Roeland in the 66thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joonatan Gijselinx, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Daniel Roelands short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Joonatan Gijselinx to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jorn Hollants sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joonatan Gijselinx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anthoon Gyselinckx in the 75th minute of the match. In the 79th minute Fransesco De Hertoghe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joonatan Gijselinx saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, rsc superjupiler's Joonatan Gijselinx got control of the ball when Fransesco De Hertoghe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anthoon Gyselinckx might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joonatan Gijselinx. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anthoon Gyselinckx ran back to his position shaking his head. After 86 played minutes FC Club Brugge got a freekick which was hit by Johan Steuckens. The supporters of FC Club Brugge booed when rsc superjupiler was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinand Van Beneden didn't get a good kick on the ball. When David Standaers came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the FC Club Brugge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Standaers couldn't finish the play. Daniel Roeland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Joonatan Gijselinx made a huge save. FC Club Brugge's Brend Mestdagh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cedrik De Beer in the 96th minute of play. FC Club Brugge's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
